Kody learns that Meri is asking their church for a “release,” their religion’s word for a divorce. Christine and Aspyn throw Ysabel a welcome home party.”

In tonight’s Sister Wives episode, Kody was no longer a polygamist. He divorced three of his four wives. He was now married to just one woman and it happened to be his favorite. Yes, Robyn was his favorite.
The favoritism came out during the pandemic. It’s why the other wives ultimately left him. Christine quit the marriage loudly. Meri has had one foot out the door for years. Janelle was a quiet quitter. She basically told everyone that she was considering moving in with her daughter and her daughter’s family. She implied she was leaving Kody without ever saying so out loud.
Neither Janelle nor Christine sought a spiritual divorce through their church. They simply left. They considered themselves divorced and that was it. Meri was the first wife.
She had an actual marriage certificate. She also had an official divorce from Kody. Kody exes were done with him. They now wanted what they were owed and Kody was playing around with giving them answers. The family brought a large property in Coyote Pass. It was supposed to be divided up equally. The family all put in money on the property.
If the loan falls through, their other properties can be seized. This was a huge concern for Janelle. She wanted paperwork. She wanted to see that the mortgage was getting paid.
She kept asking Kody for answers and he refused to cooperate with her. He was still hurt she left him. He failed to see the part he played in their divorce. Or how it was impacting his relationship with his children. His adult children were barely talking to him. He stopped all contact with Maddie because Maddie refused to kiss up to him.
Maddie was like her mother. She wanted to see paperwork. She wanted to know how much was in the bank and where it was going. Kody said he didn’t owe them anything.
He refused to talk to Janelle after she told him she was leaving him. He doesn’t want any of his exes to live out on the property they all bought together. He just wants to be done with them. It’s one of the reasons why Janelle considering leaving the state. Her daughter want to live in Montana with her family. They wanted to buy up land and build there.
