MINUTES AGO!! Real Andrews Reveals Shocking Reason Behind His Sudden Exit from General Hospital
Say it isn’t so! General Hospital star Real Andrews has explained why he’s leaving the show. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
General Hospital News: Real Andrews Explains Why He’s Leaving The Show
The actor, who is best known for his role as Marcus Taggert on the hit ABC soap, hasn’t been seen on the canvas for over a year and there’s a good reason for it.
As many General Hospital fans can recall, Marcus had a breakdown in an elevator after learning that his daughter Trina actually wasn’t his.
And while it’s been a long time since we’ve heard from him, Real Andrews has now opened up as to what he’s been doing and why he hasn’t been back on the show. He started off his General Hospital career way back in 1996.
He said, “I’ve been getting a lot of questions for over a year now. They’re probably not the answers that you want to hear, but it’s all great.”
“So, my chapter with General Hospital is over. The writing has been on the wall for a long time…. and I wanted to come here because you guys have been phenomenal, the best, amazing supporters.”

The actor continued, “It’s just been an incredible journey, you know? I do want to give a shout-out to [Casting Director] Mark Teschner [who] gave me the first opportunity [to join the show], [former Head Writer] Bob Guza, [former Executive Producer] Wendy Riche, [Executive Producer] Frank [Valentini. All the champions there.”
“I know God has made it very clear to me [that GH is behind me] and how do I know? Because when I took it to God … I got offered what is the biggest role in my life. It’s in the best, biggest and best network, the best director, producers, writers, in my opinion, in the industry — we’re in pre-production for it.”
“I know a lot of you are gonna be like, mad or whatever, and I appreciate it, I’m grateful for that, but you know what? It’s been an amazing ride, right? And I love to be able to, when you think about it, go out on top. I mean, man, the last scenes that I show, I mean, as an actor, I couldn’t have asked for anything more…. Frank said, ‘I’ve written you some amazing stuff,’ and he did.”
