As General Hospital prepares to say goodbye to Sam, rumor has it the character will go out with a fatal bang. Amidst the sadness over the character’s exit, here’s why Sam’s death may actually save several people in Port Charles.
Sam’s Intro
Kelly Monaco has portrayed Sam for over two decades and filmed her final scenes just days shy of her 21st anniversary on October 1, 2024. Since Monaco’s firing, the actress has promised to give a proper statement on what happened, while her dedicated fans rallied together to buy a Times Square billboard asking the soap to rehire her.
A rumor recently spread that Sam’s exit would be due to the character’s death, teasing she’ll leave in a tragic way. Here’s how GH killing off Sam may actually act as a beacon of hope for Port Charles.
Sam’s Outro
Sam’s death would rock several lives, starting with her family. While Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) May have to mourn her daughter while in prison, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) will be left to handle their sister’s passing.
The two have been at odds for months over Baby Irene/Adela’s death, but losing their sister could be the thing that severs their bond.
As for Sam’s boyfriend, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), he’s already had his hands full lately with Lulu’s health crisis and comforting Rocco (Finn Francis Carr). Before her coma, Lulu admitted to Maxie she still loved her ex-husband, and Dante hasn’t been shy about his feelings for her.
Dante may have to trade in one love for another, but in the end, it’ll allow him to be back with Lulu, like he belongs.
Out of anyone in Port Charles, Sam’s death might devastate Jason (Steve Burton) the most. This supercouple-turned-exes were always meant to be, and despite being separated for years, the Dragon will be lost without his Phoenix.
Her death will allow Jason to step up further as a father to Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), and even bond more with Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), who also once dated Sam.
