General Hospital News: It’s Over For Kelly Monaco

Kelly began playing her character, Sam McCall, on October 1, 2003. It was reported earlier this summer that the actress was absolutely blindsided when she found out that she was getting fired on the show.

Unfortunately for longtime viewers of  the show who were campaigning to keep Kelly’s character alive, it looks like it didn’t work. That said, the producers of General Hospital are yet to give a reason why they decided to let go of Kelly in the first place.

While Kelly herself has not made any comments about the matter, her mother Carmina Monaco did share a heartfelt post on social media for her fans.

She said, “I want to take this moment to reach out to Kelly’s incredible fans and express my deepest gratitude for the unwavering love, loyalty, and support you’ve shown her throughout her time on General Hospital.”

“On this final day, just four days shy of the anniversary of her first episode on October 1, 2003, Kelly will close the door of her dressing room for the last time. This moment is a difficult one, but knowing that she has had such an incredible, devoted fan base has given her strength.”
