General Hospital’s Steve Burton Talks Fired and Rehired – Spills Jason Morgan’s Post-FBI Future
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Steve Burton recently opened up about what it was like to be back in the role of Jason Morgan, so let’s talk about some interviews he did at the Daytime Emmys regarding his return.
Soap fans will recall that Burton was fired from GH back in 2021 for his refusal to go along with the vaccine mandate.
Of course, Steve Burton never ruled out a return if the mandate was lifted – and after doing a stint as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives, Burton ultimately made a GH comeback.
Now that Burton is in Port Charles playing Jason Morgan again, he opened up to ET about the whole experience on the red carpet.
“When another door shuts another one opens and, you know, God has a plan,” Burton said. “I left and here I am back again, full circle, and it feels great and it’s just an amazing time.”
Burton also told ABC7 in Los Angeles that GH had always been his home, so he acknowledged that it felt good to finally be back there.
As for Jason’s storyline and what’s coming up in PC, Steve Burton offered up a few hints about what’s in store.
For starters, Burton mentioned that they were on the verge of concluding some things with the FBI, so there’s perhaps an end in sight when it comes to John “Jagger” Cates’ (Adam Harrington) hold on Jason.
It turns out Burton is looking forward to the day when Jason can mend his relationship with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and hopefully become his right-hand man again.
“I want to go back to work for him,” Burton confessed. “I’m tired of pushing coffee. I’m done with the coffee business!”
Many viewers are getting a little bored with Jason’s time at the coffee warehouse as well since it mostly consists of him walking around bags of beans with a clipboard on a daily basis!
However, Jason did ultimately get some action due to the recent warehouse ambush.
Since Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) knows Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) ordered that hit and has identified him as the secret head of Pikeman, there’s indeed been some big story movement lately.
Our predictions indicate that Jason Morgan has some other difficult jams ahead of him, but the reward will be his freedom once his FBI arrangement is over.
General Hospital spoilers say Jason will have to deal with some alarming news and fresh challenges in the meantime, so stay tuned for updates on all the drama.
