General Hospital Comings and Goings: Jennifer Landon Is Set to Take Over as Lulu Spencer on GH
Lulu Spencer, a regular on General Hospital, has been in a coma since surviving a bomb explosion in the December 1, 2020 episode.
After over four years, there is talk of her return after Laura and Dante visited her in the hospital. Lulu was originally played by Julie Marie Berman from 2005 to 2013, followed by Emme Rylan until 2020.
While Rylan confirmed she won’t return, rumors suggest Jennifer Landon might take over the role, though there was speculation Berman might reprise it.
Going by the rumors that are based on several things including the character requirement matching what Jennfier could deliver, it is possible that Landon will be the new Lulu. However, it is important to consider that the makers or the actress have not made anything official yet.
Lulu Spencer was first introduced on General Hospital on August 8, 1994, as the daughter of the super couple Luke and Laura Spencer.
Child actors Amanda and Kerrianne Harrington played the role between 1994 and 1995, followed by Clare and Maribel Moses in 1995, and Alysin and Kelli Griffith between 1995 and 2001. From 2001 to 2005 Stephanie Allen followed by Tessa Allen portrayed Lulu.
General Hospital: Who can be the new Lulu?
Jennifer Landon is an American actress born on August 29, 1983, in Malibu, California, United States.
The actress is no new to the soap opera industry as she is known for her roles in prominent television shows like Peacock’s Days of Our Lives as Hillary Nelson, CBS’ The Young and the Restless as Heather Stevens, and Paramount Network’s Yellowstone as Teeter.
Landon is a three-time Emmy Award winner in 2006, 2007, and 2008 in the category Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Gwen Norbeck Munson in the CBS soap opera As the World Turns.
As reported by Daily Soap Dish, the rumors of Jennifer Landon joining the cast of General Hospital as Lulu Spencer, began from the tweet of a fan on X, that stated that Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Charlotte Cassadine (daughter of Lulu), started following Jen Landon on Instagram.
Since there is no other connection that anyone could think of, it was speculated that this might be the beginning of the bond of the on-screen mother-daughter duo.
Another point that added to these speculations was the age group of the actress that fits with the actress and her resemblance with Rylan and Berman, who portrayed Lulu previously.
If Landon joins the cast of General Hospital, this will be yet another reunion for her and former co-star Maura West (who portrays Ava Jerome).
General Hospital: Jennifer Landon as Lulu Spencer
Lulu Spencer on General Hospital is currently bearing the misery of the bomb blast that was planted by Julian Jerome on the orders of Cyrus Renault at the Floating Rib restaurant, back in December 2020. Lulu was already in a coma and now when it is time for her return she is having a liver failure due to the negative impact of the medications.
If Jennifer Landon joins the cast, she will continue the storyline of Lulu as she gets a liver transplant. Since the makers announced to killing of Sam McCall, if the petition raised by the fans to keep Kelly Monaco (who portrays Sam) does not work, it could be Sam who can become a donor for Lulu, if it matches.
Sam’s death and Lulu’s revival can lead to the long pending reunion of Dante and Lulu as before she went into the coma, the last thing she wanted to do was to tell Dante that she loved him.
Fans of General Hospital can watch the new episodes of the show on ABC.
