What’s Ahead for Holly on the ABC Soap?
According to Variety, the General Hospital actress is thrilled to be back in the mix. Her character, Holly, is about to shake things up in a big way. Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane.
Samms first stepped into Holly’s shoes way back in 1982, and the character quickly became a fan favorite. But after a few solid years in Port Charles, she left in 1985.
Moreover, she popped up again in the 90s for a brief but memorable stint from 1992-93. And let us tell you that Emma has certainly kept fans on their toes over the years.
She kept returning to GH for short stints here and there in 2006, 2009, 2012-13, 2015, and 2020. She appeared most recently from 2022-23. Holly’s ties to Port Charles are deep.
This time, her storyline is set to intertwine with the return of Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson). For those in the loop, Lucky is the son of Laura Collins and the late Luke Spencer, who also happened to be Holly’s ex-flame. So, things are bound to get interesting! But that’s not all. The GH actress teased Variety about another big storyline.
She revealed that her character will be connected to a “brilliant, strong, powerful, interesting villain.” Additionally, she promises that there will be some juicy twists in store as Holly makes her epic comeback. In real life, Emma has been quite raw about her struggles with long COVID. She shared that it’s been almost four and a half years of battling this condition.
Despite the best efforts of her doctors, there’s still a lot they don’t fully understand. Unfortunately, Samms learned she had myocarditis after a series of body scans. Furthermore, it left scarring on her heart while she also deals with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. It makes it difficult for her to stand for longer periods.
Nevertheless, Emma is grateful for the folks on the ABC soap who have been incredibly supportive of her health journey.
She believes she wouldn’t be able to work normally without their understanding and accommodations. Clearly, Emma’s return is one that fans won’t want to miss, both on and off-screen.
