We couldn’t help but share her excitement when we watched the preview for the General Hospital star’s new movie, an empowering teen dramedy called Empire Waist. What’s it about? Per the official logline,
“Lenore Miller (Mia Kaplan) is a plus-sized, insecure teen whose talent for fashion is discovered by her confident, plus-sized classmate (Jemima Yevu), forcing her into the spotlight — and into the path of both bullies and new friends.
We have a hunch that she will.
In Empire Waist, Ali, who on the daily rocks the role of Trina on General Hospital, plays Honor — based on the trailer, part of a Mean Girls clique that may be about to reevaluate its priorities. (We can but hope.)
When the poster for the movie dropped last month, the fan fave exclaimed, “I can’t wait for everyone to see this amazing film directed/written by Claire Ayoub, who I absolutely love and [feel] honored to know.
I’m really grateful to be a part of this spectacular film. This was such a dream job! I wish I could go back in time and shoot this feature all over again!
