General Hospital Breaking News: Major Staff Changes Announced

That’s because the latest General Hospital breaking news says that there hav ebeen major staff changes announced.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Chris Van Etten is coming back to assume the role as co-head writer alongside current co head writer, Elizabeth Korte.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini said in a statement issued to Digest, “No one knows General Hospital and its history more than Elizabeth and Chris.”

“Cathy joined the show in 2023,  and her talent and love for the genre has been a tremendous asset to this team.”

“We look forward to this dynamic writing combination continuing the legacy of the show and giving our fans much to look forward to.”

Van Etten also released a statement that said, “It’s really daunting taking over any kind of leadership role on a show like this that has such a history, but also I have such a history with — apart from my professional relationship with it.”

This comes as quite the shock to fans as back in January, the General Hospital also made a lot of changes to their writing staff.

Back then, General Hospital head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor were both given the boot. It was a move that shocked the entire soap opera industry for many different reasons.

While no one knows if this is true or what might have prompted the producers to let go of the scribes, it seems like a lot of General Hospital fans think this might have been a very good move at the time.

That’s because they aren’t very keen on some of the more current storylines. Some fans think that Executive Producer Frank Valentini might have had something to do with the move.
