General Hospital Wednesday, August 7 Recap: Sonny’s Placebo Discovery – Molly Reads Autopsy to Ava
General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 7, reveals that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) visited Ava Jerome (Maura West) in lockup and got Ava’s reassurance that she didn’t push Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi).
Ava acted like people needed someone to blame in situations like this and suggested she was the scapegoat.
After Trina headed to GH, she gave Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) updates on her conversation with Ava.
Portia debated Ava’s potential guilt with Trina before getting a call about Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) imminent follow-up appointment at the hospital.
In her kitchen, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) talked to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who revealed that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) reached out to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) for help last night.
Sonny got Jason to drive him home, so Carly was glad to hear Sonny was seemingly coming back to them.
At Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) place, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) woke up in bed with him.
Dex passed along positive news he’d received about Kristina, but he was uncertain about the baby’s fate.
Josslyn eventually headed to Carly’s place and admitted she’d stayed the night with Dex, so Carly was happy that he made her feel safe after the whole lifeguard ordeal.
When Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) appeared with Sonny’s pill bottle and said she’d taken vitamins, Carly and Josslyn rushed her to GH to have her stomach pumped.
At Sonny’s penthouse, Kevin stopped by with the results of his blood test, which indicated there was no sign of Sonny’s bipolar meds in his system.
Sonny was baffled and assured Kevin that he’d truly been taking his pills every day.
Jason also paid Sonny a visit, so Sonny told him about the close call on the roof and how Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) stopped him from jumping.
Once Josslyn called Sonny about Donna’s emergency, he headed to the hospital with Jason.
It turns out Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) got her hands on the lithium bottle, which Donna then took for herself since she wanted the “vitamins.”
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) eventually came out to assure everyone that Donna would be fine.
There was no indication that any real meds were in Donna’s system or the remaining capsules, so Sonny was stunned to realize he’d been taking placebos.
Meanwhile, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) was upset when Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) left for work instead of supporting him and grieving together. Molly just couldn’t deal with any of it right now and took off.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) showed up to help take the nursery down, but TJ ultimately wanted to be alone and broke down on the floor over some baby booties.
Back with jailed Ava, Molly showed up with Dex, who was serving as an impartial witness since she was the ADA.
Ava denied causing Kristina’s tumble or the baby’s death, but Molly forced her to listen as she read the baby’s devastating autopsy report.
Later, Molly was tearful as she nearly entered the door to her apartment, but she just couldn’t face TJ and walked off again.
Finally, Kevin visited Ava behind bars and suggested he could ease her mind about Sonny being a threat to Avery.
After Kevin said Sonny was getting the help he needed, the doc took a phone call and asked about the problem with Sonny’s meds.
It seemed like Kevin might’ve suspected Ava’s involvement and allowed her to hear. Ava’s eyes indeed widened as she worried about her placebo order being discovered.
Our predictions hint that Ava will continue to squirm, especially since Jason will confront her soon enough!
General Hospital spoilers say Ava’s world will come crashing down even further, so stay tuned.
