Heartbreaking Marital Update: Cameron Mathison Shares : ‘We Have Made the Difficult Decision to Part Ways’
“After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways.” With those words, General Hospital‘s Cameron Mathison and his wife Vanessa shared the news that they were calling it quints where their marriage is concerned.
The joint statement, released via Instagram, went on to say, “We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.
Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them. We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another.”
While no reason was given for the parting of ways, the pair concluded the statement by saying that they “sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.”
This news came only a day after Cameron posted a “summer photo dump” on Instagram which spoke about how he’d soon be an “official empty nester.”
Fans quickly noted in the comments how odd it seemed that the post did not include any pictures of his wife.
Both Mathison’s posted the statement, and each disabled comments.
On a brighter note, the actor shared earlier this week that he has hit the five-year mark of being cancer free.
In addition to his duties as General Hospital‘s Drew, Mathison has also been appearing regularly in Great American Family movies ever since signing a multi-picture deal with that company late last year.
In addition, he’s kept busy hosting a new game show called Beat the Bridge on the Game Show Network.
