All we’ll say is if you’re going to go after someone, you better know what you’re talking about!
Maurice Benard certainly took that to heart when he went after a General Hospital actor and did not pull any punches! And honestly? We kind of loved it.
It started when a General Hospital viewer shared a pic of him on Twitter/X asking fellow fans of the actor to put a heart emoji in the comments.
And if they weren’t fans, they were asked to simply move on. You know how it goes. If you don’t have anything nice to say, it’s better to say nothing at all! Most folks seemed to get the message, but there was one person, in particular, who couldn’t resist commenting: Benard himself!
The actor retweeted the original post, adding, “I’m not a fan at all. I don’t think he’s a very good actor, and I don’t think he’s that good looking.” Well, he amended, “He may be a little sexy, but that’s it.”
Well, we guess we’re all entitled to our opinions — especially when they’re delivered with tongue firmly in cheek!
Let it never be said the man doesn’t have humility — delivered with a healthy dose of humor! Honestly, it doesn’t get much better than that.
And judging by the comments that seemed to have people all-but rolling in the aisles with laughter, we’re guessing his fans agree.
Respectfully, though, they all disagreed with his assessment. Though a few did admit they’re a bit unhappy with how Sonny’s been acting lately.
Unfortunately, his behavior will likely be getting a lot worse before it gets better, especially with Ava switching out his meds for a placebo. But hey, this is Sonny we’re talking about.
For those worrying about whether he’s headed for a permanent downfall that’ll lead to his leaving, we’ve got no doubt that in time, Sonny will bounce back, better than ever.
And Benard will be taking us right along for the ride the whole time, delivering what we’re sure will continue to be incredible performances as Sonny heads towards rock bottom.
