General Hospital Alum Kelly Thiebaud Reveals She Tried to Come Back to GH – Sad News as Ex-Britt.

When Jason returned to General Hospital, many fans began wishing that Britt could come back, too, so that the couple could be reunited.

Unfortunately, while Jason’s death was left mysterious and no body was found, Britt’s was a bit more permanent, dying in her mother’s arms.

Still, given that soaps bring characters back from the dead all the time, that didn’t stop viewers from wishing Kelly Thiebaud could reprise the role of Britt once again.

When the actress wrapped up a recent visit to Los Angeles by sharing some pics of her trip on Instagram – including her adorable dog, Whiskey — one fan was disappointed to hear she was leaving again.

When they admitted they thought Thiebaud was coming back to GH, the actress replied to her comment to reveal: “I tried.”

Unfortunately, Thiebaud didn’t elaborate on her statement to reveal exactly what happened.

Though Britt’s on-screen death would be more difficult to explain away, soap writers have come up with crazier twists and turns over the years!

Thiebaud joined the cast of GH as the scheming Dr. Britt Westbourne back in 2012 and continued to return for runs of varying lengths in the years that followed.

Her last run began in 2020 and earned her two Daytime Emmy Award nominations in the Supporting Actress category, taking home the trophy in 2022 before her final episode in January 2023.

Although Thiebaud had been playing the recurring role of Eva Vasquez on Station 19, she explained at the time of her GH exit that she wasn’t leaving the soap for the primetime series.

She actually left so that she could move to London to be with her boyfriend at the time and to explore new career opportunities. “In the soap world, you can still come back after you die,” Thiebaud said at the time, “and who knows what will happen in 10 years.

But for me, really wanting to move on in my creative experiences and in my life, I needed to feel like this was the end and that’s why all kind of decided on her dying.”

Could Britt one day come back like Jason did? In the world of daytime, anything is possible, so stay tuned!
