It’s Cynthia Watros’ 56th birthday!
She was born Cynthia Michele Watros on September 2, 1968, in Lake Orion, Michigan to her parents Nancy and Bruce Watros.
She has a brother named Steven Watros. Cynthia went to Macomb Community College in Clinton Township, Michigan and got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Boston University, where she was part of their Professional Actors Training Program.
Watros gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Annie Dutton on Guiding Light, a role for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1998.
In addition to her successful stint on Guiding Light, Watros filled in for Jensen Buchanan as Victoria Hudson McKinnon on Another World in 1998 and later took on the role of Kelly Andrews on The Young and the Restless from 2013 to 2015.
She also ventured into primetime gigs and film roles before returning to the soap opera world as Nina Reeves on General Hospital.
In real life, she’s been married to Curtis Gilliland since 1996. They’ve got twin daughters born in 2001. Back in 2008, Watros did a USO tour to Iraq, visiting a bunch of bases including COP Callahan in Baghdad’s East Adamiyah area.
