Fans and, we’ll readily admit, we at Soaps.com were all taken a bit by surprise when General Hospital broke up Kristina and Blaze and sent the singer packing on a world tour.
Things had seemed to be going so well and then bam, Kristina fell out of a window, the couple broke up and just like that Jacqueline Grace Lopez was off the show.
The actress admitted she, too, was surprised at the abrupt exit, but shared a touching statement about how much playing Blaze has meant to her. The fans, though, have not been ready to let her go. And that, in turn, has prompted Lopez to speak out again.
“Just wanna say I am deeply moved by all the well wishes and support I have received over the last few days,” she tweeted over on X/Twitter. “I only hope the roles I portray help people feel seen, so all this love makes me feel like I did something right!”
The actress continued by telling fans that, “For those who feel a little less seen, know you are the example you seek! Be brave and proud that you taking up space and living your truth is an example and inspiration to others, myself included. You are seen. You matter! Never forget that”
Fan Rhonda Skidmore responded by tweeting that, “Your portrayal of Blaze was honest and real. It helps people. As a group we want you back on GH, but we hope that we are not bringing on attention that you may not want. We see you and appreciate you and your talent.”
The attention hasn’t been a problem, Lopez promised when she responded. “I just saw a lot of people sad about losing a tv touchstone,” she wrote. “One great thing about this role is seeing community form! I hope it continues for those who don’t feel it in their immediate circles.
